This rug brings quiet intensity and collector-level character into a space, offering rhythmic geometry and confident tribal presence through its finely detailed lattice design and aged tones.
Handwoven in the Caucasus region in the 1940s, this vintage kilim reflects the graphic tribal weaving tradition the area is known for — precise, symbolic, and visually structured. The field is organized into a repeating diamond lattice filled with stylized emblem motifs, a classic Caucasian visual language associated with protection, strength, and vitality. The composition feels both disciplined and lively: the tight grid creates architectural order, while the animated figures give the surface movement and personality.
The palette has softened beautifully with age into a distinctive collector’s range of tones — wine red, dusty rose, charcoal black, walnut brown, muted blush, soft sage accents, and aged ivory highlights. Natural abrash and tonal shifts create depth and authenticity unique to old-world handmade pieces that machine-made rugs simply cannot replicate.
Flatwoven from wool, it has a strong, tight structure suitable for everyday use. Its 5\' × 10\'10\" size works beautifully in large hallways, entries, living rooms, bedrooms, or offices, as well as layered interiors where warmth, texture, and tribal character are desired, creating a long visual line that naturally guides the eye through a space.
