The centerpiece of this necklace is an antique Dutch silver brooch with 15 knots on the border and a bigger center one. This brooch is from the late 19th century or early 20th century. These traditional Dutch pieces are called \"Zeeuwse knop\". They have been part of the regional folkloric Dutch costume since the 18th century. The necklace itself is made of high quality faceted rock crystal nuggets with sterling silver cage beads and finished with a a sterling silver ornate toggle clasp. The brooch can be worn separately. 

This brooch is in excellent condition. It is finished with a tube hinge and a safety pin type catch. 

One picture shows Van Gogh\'s sister-in-law wearing an almost identical one.
