This beautiful Sandstone Opal Matrix (untreated fairy opal) necklace, is made with round beads, each opal bead has its own unique opal colour. Light sprinkles of lime green opal colour flicker around the necklace.

The Opal Matrix was mined in Western Queensland. near the town of Winton.

Fairy Opal is the name given to natural sandstone opal matrix (sandstone with speaks of opal colour) that has been cooked and burnt with cooking oil to blacken the sandstone, which in turn, makes it easier to see the opal colours. The toggle clasp is made of silver, and a strong metal thread has been used to thread the opals.

The necklace is finished off with a simple and easy to wear silver clasp.

A certificate of authenticity from the Opal Association of Australia stating that the opal in the necklace are Natural Solid Australian Opal is included.

The Necklace is 46cm long.
