For Pilot watch enthusiasts, Laco watches really needs no introduction. Founded in 1925, they were one of the original manufacturers of German Flieger watches. Still based in Pforzheim, Germany, Laco is known for their exacting quality, exceptional finishing, and attention to design detail.

The Atacama is the most modern of these, produced as part of Laco’s premier “Squad Watch” series designed for military, fire, and law enforcement professionals to create the ultimate uncompromising German tool watch. Featuring a 46mm black PVD-coated stainless steel case with depth-defying water resistance, unique flexible lugs, and a 12:00 crown, the Laco Atacama provides a look more akin to a gauge than a wristwatch. Available in an automatic time-only model and a quartz UTC variant, the Atacama is a versatile companion for when there can be no compromise. Both are paired with a matching black rubber strap.

The automatic is powered by the Swiss-made Laco 200, a Sellita SW200 variant featuring 26 jewels, hacking, hand winding, a frequency of 28,800 beats per hour, and a power reserve of at least 41 hours. 

The quartz utilizes the Swiss-made Ronda 515.24, a quartz caliber featuring hacking, a UTC complication, a battery life of approximately 45 months, and accuracy of -10/+20 seconds per month.
