The most iconic feature of Bag End, the home of Bilbo Baggins and later Frodo Baggins, was its beautiful green door.

The rune found in the top right section of the door is the secret mark made by Gandalf  in The Hobbit. The rune was to signal Thorin\'s Dwarven party that this was the home of their burglar and treasure hunter. The mark is a Dwarvish rune combining the meanings of the \"F\" and \"R\" runes. Together the runes indicates that the occupant of the home is in search of a journey for wealth, treasure and adventure and is willing to travel. Or as Gandalf described it:\"Burglar wants a good job, plenty of excitement and reasonable reward\".

Finish: Plain, hand enameled with a two part epoxy emerald green resin, and a 24K gold pen-plated doorknob to give it its distinct \"brass\" finish.

Dimensions: The Door measures 34.8 mm top to bottom including bail, 28.7 mm wide and 3.3 mm thick.

Weight: 12.5 grams.

Stamp and Makers Mark: The back of the Door is stamped with our maker\'s mark, copyright, and BRONZE.

Chain Options: 24\" stainless steel rope chain, 24\" gold-plated stainless steel rope chain, or a nickel-plated keyring. Additional chains are available on our accessories page.
