The Abatement Technologies CAP1200-UV is the larger-capacity variant of Abatement\'s proven CAP series. Where the CAP600 series covers homes up to 2,250 sq ft, the CAP1200-UV handles spaces up to 3,750 sq ft — completing a full air change in approximately 30 minutes. The same aluminum cabinet, the same German-engineered motor, the same pre-certified True HEPA performance — with an additional third stage of prefiltration that provides superior particulate capture before air reaches the HEPA filter.

How It Works — 5-Stage Filtration + Germicidal UV

Stage 1 — MERV 4 Pre-Filter (F621)

Captures coarse particulate — larger dust, hair, and debris. Biodegradable, 5× the dirt-holding capacity of standard fiberglass filters. Replace monthly.

Stage 2 — MERV 6 Pleated Particulate Filter (H502)

Second-stage pleated filter captures finer visible particles, protecting the carbon filter and HEPA from premature loading. Replace every 6 months.

Stage 3 — Vapor-Lock Carbon Filter (VL1002)

Activated carbon stage captures odors, VOCs, and gaseous contaminants before they reach the HEPA. This is the additional stage that separates the CAP1200 series from the CAP600 — a dedicated odor and chemical capture layer. Replace annually.

Stage 4 — True HEPA Filter (H610C-99)

Pre-certified, third-party tested True HEPA — 99.97% efficient at 0.3 microns. Captures bacteria, mold spores, pollen, smoke particles, soot, and sub-micron particulate. The UV lamp is positioned inside the cylindrical HEPA for maximum germicidal effectiveness against both airborne organisms and particles trapped on the media. Replace every 2–3 years.

Stage 5 — Germicidal UV-C (UV625)

UVGI lamp delivers 33 microwatts/cm² at 1 meter, continuously irradiating the HEPA interior. Destroys bacteria, mold, and viruses. No ozone produced.
