HOT ! Sapphire peacock necklace in fine silver with 22k gold accents

A pair a peacocks grace the front of this fine silver pendant set with 5 blue sapphires. I gave the pendant a 22k gold accent. Dripping from the pendant is a large blue sapphire briolette that is topped with sapphires in various blue shades. The handmade chain consists of more sapphires in light and dark blue shades for an ombre effect. A mixed metal necklace with the gems wrapped in sterling silver and 14k gold filled wire. I finished the necklace with s silver hook clasp accented with gold filled wire. I made the pendant from an antique bronze mold from India.

This necklace is 18 inches ling with a 1 inch extender. The pendant is 53 x 18.5 mm, or just over 2 inches long.

A note on precious metal clay:

ArtClay silver is a recycled product that consists of fine silver particles suspended in an organic binder. The clay can be worked like other forms of clay, sculpted to almost any shape you desire. The product is then fired at an extremely high temperature, either by kiln or torch. The binder burns away resulting in a pure silver (.999) piece. The silver is reclaimed from such sources as 35mm film and medical and industrial leftovers. No strip mining necessary.
