Each bag design is an extensive process of sourcing materials, developing a custom handbag pattern, hand cutting leather, skiving, working with adhesives, sewing, creating a painted leather flower and surging a storage dustbag. MONOLISA bags are not mass produced or sold in retail stores. Pieces from the collection can only be purchased on this website or at a show. MONOLISA handbags have been featured at the San Francisco American Craft Show and other additional fine art juried shows in California. Leather: Beautiful top grain thick leather tanned in the United States - medium to soft temper and lightly finished for color consistency. Leather grain variations and natural characteristics are visible with each handmade piece. Waste reduction is a top priority at MONOLISA. To reduce wastage, the majority of the leather hide is used while making this handbag collection. Flower Element: Designed with Italian leathers.
