This shape first appeared in the late 1970s at Cutler & Gross in London and was a best-seller from the start. The wavy brow bar, rectangular lens shape, and bold, sweeping temples captured our customers\' imaginations. It was one of the first shapes available by custom order at our original store in Knightsbridge from the 1970s through the early 1980s. These frames were handcrafted on the second floor of our store, which still exists today. In 2001, we redesigned the bridge, lowering the height by 3 mm and widening it by 2 mm to create the more inclusive fit we see today. In 2021, this bold new style is layered to celebrate the 9 mm. The sunglasses version is done in black on camouflage with high-quality French-made solid gray-green sunglasses lenses with anti-reflective coating on the back surface. And in timeless granny chic with dark brown sunglasses with anti-reflective coating on the back surface.
